Phenomenological consciousness
Of pandemic spatiality
Iterates after a century
Of human supremacy,
Corona is the new normal –
Touch me not
Stay away!
Inhale not
The poison!
Exhale not
Your burden!
Absolute abstinence
From the virus
Yet the absurdity of
Virus, virus everywhere
Nor a breath of fresh air….
The scientific indeterminacy
Goes hand in hand
With existential dread
Of dissemination
Of devouring death
Through human-animals…
The new media dogmatics
And the religious explication
Of expiation
Amongst the masses
Rage dichotomies
Of intersubjective affectivity…
There is a need of togetherness
But the persistence
On passivity exasperates
The proximal stability, and
The hermeneutics of Covid 19
The Nature’s Halloween
Render endurance as the sole praxis
In this temporal existence
Wherein immanence is permanence
And the survival of the fittest matrix
Reverberates loud in silence!
By profession an assistant professor, I am an aspiring poet. Poetry has always been my passion. I have written extensively for university magazines of Pakistan but just ventured into international publications. I recently got my poems published in The New Writing and Down in the Dirt. A free soul, in search of rhythm in the free flow of ideas, I find free verse my forte.
