Submit a Pandemic Poem: closed
Poetry and Covid was open to submissions from the project’s launch in June 2020 until July 2021.
The website now serves as an historical document of how people used poetry to respond to the pandemic during this time.
In addition to the website, we published Poetry & Covid-19: An Anthology of Contemporary, International, and Collaborative Poetry (Shearsman 2021), featuring work by nineteen UK-based poets and nineteen partner-poets from around the world, including: Sinéad Morrissey and Jan Wagner; Carol Leeming and Rakhshan Rizwan; Luke Kennard and Hwang Yu Won; Momtaza Mehri and A. E. Stallings. Edited by the Poetry & Covid project leaders, Anthony Caleshu and Rory Waterman, the Anthology includes a long Introduction exploring pandemic poetries, from medieval times to the present.
Regarding poems on the website:
Copyright: Copyright remains with the author.
Usage: All poems published on the poetryandcovid.com website may be subsequently re-published or cited by the project editors in their work considering how poetry is being used as a mode of discourse during the Covid-19 pandemic, including in the Introduction to the Poetry and Covid anthology, to be published in print by Shearsman in 2021. Any subsequent publication will credit the author and the place of publication as the poetryandcovid.com website.
