Coronavirus

By Julie Beaton

Coronavirus is here
The world living in fear
Losing people so dear
I shed many a tear

The virus takes hold
New cases unfold
Deaths untold
The world feels so cold

A silence unreal
Unknowing how to feel
Many lives it will steal
Will we ever really heal

Isolation so great
Human bubbles we create
Not knowing our fate
Endlessly we wait

Living all alone
Talking on the phone
Must stay at home
Our future unknown

Families at a distance
Governments insistence
Complying with resistance
It’s a solitary existence

This spreading disease
Causing such unease
People falling to their knees
Everyone help us please!
