The world is forever changing,
It brings new challenges everyday….
Like the presence of Covid,
Which is likely here to stay…
The rules are always hard,
Staying 1.5 apart…
About the same perimeter,
You need to crack a fart…
And there’s that bloody app,
That checks you in and out…
It tracks your every move,
When you are about…
We all look like criminals,
As we hide behind a mask…
This Covid has made life tough,
It has taken us to task…
Mask wearing is a burden,
Is certainly has its flaws…
But It is the thing we must do,
Essential to the cause…
It can be a bit uncomfortable,
You get to smell your breath up close…
That garlic that I had for dinner,
Really was quite gross…
We certainly look bizarre,
In our generic sterile space…
Only expressions from our eyes,
No more smiling face…
Some look like bank robbers,
While others make their own…
A little bit of character,
Expressed in what they’ve sewn…
Whatever you have to wear,
You are doing your little bit…
To slow the spread of Covid,
And save us from this shit!
Totally relatable. Thanks for your creative contribution. A good read.
Good job Len Newey. Could you send me more of your poems please
