Two Poems

By Ruchi Singh

Crown of the Killer

Who named you corona?
This word comes from the ‘crown’
The crown is preserver
But you are a destroyer
An enemy, a terror, a murderer
Your greediness for death devoured our happiness
Our world is helpless

The crown falls down but stands up again for the masses
You make us fall down and never inspire to survive
You replaced warmth and comfort
Turned everything into sadness and tears
Don’t be so cruel killer
Your invisible existence makes us afraid
Your shadow harms us.

Breaking an Envision of the Walking Man

That long- awaited route wins
An abeyance of system fails
Filled the mind with deep tolerance
I cannot feel your pain
I write about you without standing like you
My comfort gave me endless sleepy nights
Your distress exorts several things
How does this rude seizure torment you?
I am unable to save you.

I, Ruchi Singh a Ph.D scholar in English at Guru Ghasidas Central University Bilaspur (C.G). I have done my graduation with English (hons.) and post graduation in English from the same university as I mentioned above. I have presented the papers at national and international levels. My deep interest to read Partition Fiction, Esoteric Novels, Victorian Novels and Contemporary Poetry.
